Yes. I have another lip product review. I’m sorry. Haha. No scratch that, I am not sorry because I love lip products a lot so I might be posting more pretty soon.
Anyways, today I will be focusing my review on a local brand here in the Philippines called Vice Cosmetics. I was not a huge fan of their Matte Lip Kits because I found them too trying, not to mention the lip liner was a disaster. But I wanted to give them another go since this time they released Velvet Lip Kits – consider me intrigued.

THE Q & A REVIEW:
WHAT MADE YOU BUY THE PRODUCT?
I was not a huge fan of the first liquid lip kits Vice Cosmetics released because of how completely matte it is. I appreciate that it stayed true to its word by being matte, but it was just too matte. It clung to the dry patches on my lips and it cracks so bad in just a couple of hours of wearing it. After hearing a lot of good buzz about the Velvet Lip Kits being hydrating and blendable – completely different from the first lip kit – I knew I just had to try this.
WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ABOUT THE PACKAGING?
One thing you can appreciate about Vice Cosmetics is their packaging. All of their products are aesthetically pleasing.
The packaging looks almost the same as the Liquid Matte Lip kits only that the container itself is frosted instead of clear. I like how they don’t try to change the packaging too much every time they release a new product. They stick with the basic and focus on the product itself.
Oh and I must say, I love how the lip liner is retractable. Thank goodness! The last one was a disaster that quickly breaks apart even before using it.
HOW PIGMENTED IS IT?
I feel that the darker shades are more pigmented than the lighter ones. With the darker shade, with one swipe you can get the maximum color payoff on the lips, while the same could not be said for the lighter ones (at least for Iteklavu). I did not like the shade Iteklavu at all. I thought it applied a bit patchy and uneven compared to Kumelavu and Zelavu. I found this also true for the lip liners.
WHAT IS THE FINISH/TEXTURE OF THIS PRODUCT?
The Velvet Liquid Lipstick applies like a dream. I love how it just glides on super smooth on the lips. It doesn’t emphasize any dry patches and just completely makes my lips super gorgeous. I love how it applies and sits on my lips. It doesn’t completely dry down to a complete matte finish but it does dry down to a demi-matte one. This doesn’t feel like anything on the lips. It’s like I’m wearing nothing.
IS IT LONG LASTING? HOW LONG BEFORE YOU HAVE TO REAPPLY? IS IT TRANSFER PROOF/SMUDGE PROOF?
This isn’t as long lasting as I want to. When you eat food, expect that you won’t have any lip product left on your lips after your meal. It doesn’t leave a tint like the Peri Pera Ink Velvet ones so reapplication is necessary. If you aren’t going to eat or anything, I guess at least 3-4 hours is about how long it lasts before I have to reapply again.
Same goes when you use this as a blush, it doesn’t stay put the whole day. I hate reapplying blush so i add a layer of powder blush on top of the same shade just to prolong the color. Unfortunately, still doesn’t hold up until end of day.
Also, this does transfer and prone to smudging, so if you are planning on smooching your bae, better keep that in mind.
HOW MANY SHADES DO THEY HAVE?
They have 8 shades in total.
DO YOU HAVE A SWATCH OF THE PRODUCT?
IS WORTH THE PRICE?
This product is priced at 295 PHP (approximately 6 USD) which I think is pretty good steal given that you get to products in a lip kit, not to mention this product is multi-purpose as well. You can use it as a blush as well as an eyeshadow. So not only do you get two products, but you get more uses out of it than just being a regular lipstick.
WHAT ARE THE THINGS THAT WORKED FOR YOU?
→ It’s easily accessible.
→ It’s inexpensive. You get two products for P295. Not bad right?
→ They have a good variety of shades for all skin types.
→ It is multi-purpose. You can use this as a blush and an eyeshadow.
→ It is not drying on the lips.
→ It applies super smooth and glides over the dry areas of your lips.
→ Doesn’t feel like you have anything on your lips.
→ Stays true to its claim.
WHAT ARE THE THINGS THAT DIDN’T WORK FOR YOU?
→ It has a smell. The new ones I got have a chemically smell. I think the first one doesn’t.
→ It doesn’t leave a tint once all the product is gone from your lips.
→ It’s not as long-wearing as the older version, but I prefer this over the matte one any day.
WOULD YOU RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT? WHY AND WHY NOT?
Would definitely recommend getting this. The fact that it works so well as an eyeshadow, blush, and a lip product is enough reason for me to recommend it. For people who hate having multiple makeup tools in your makeup bag, this is a good solution for you – a 3-in-1 product that will not break your bank and one that actually delivers on what it says it would.
