September was a good reading month!
After months and months of being in a slump, I was able to finally read without falling into another slump. Wow. That sounded… Lyrical? LOL.
Anyways, I read nine books this month. Which is a record because I haven’t been reading at all since the start of the year. To be honest, I believe the slump started late last year then carried over to 2020. It sucks. I wanted to read stuff but I couldn’t focus. It’s like being hungry, you want to eat a lot of food, but your stomach just wasn’t taking any of it. That was how it felt like during those slumpy months.
Before I tell you guys everything that I’ve read for the month, I’d like to share what I have been up to prior to writing this post. I created a Reading Report. I made it so it would be easier for me to track how my reading has been for each month.
LET’S START WITH HOW MUCH I READ FOR THE MONTH

As you can see, the previous months were sh*t. I read one or two books, I think they’re not even actual novels but graphic novels. Except for January, I think, because that was when I read my favorite book of the year so far, Daisy Jones & the Six.
WHAT BOOKS DID I READ FOR THE MONTH?

Just click the links on the name of the books to take you to the reviews either on my blog or on Goodreads.
HOW MANY PAGES DID I READ FOR THE MONTH?

My September is really impressive compared to the rest of the month. I have read 3 books that has more than 500 pages. Normally, I don’t read books that long because of my ADHD, I couldn’t really deal with long books, but all three books were phenomenal. I couldn’t stop reading them.
WHAT GENRE DID I READ THE MOST THIS MONTH?

I wasn’t surprised when Fantasy and Graphic Novels came up on top because they are normally the genres I go for.
HOW MANY BOOKS FROM EACH TARGET AUDIENCE DID I READ?

This was a surprise. I normally gear towards more Young Adult books. I guess my taste in books has now evolved.
STAR RATINGS FOR THE MONTH

Most of the books I read for the month I’ve rated 3 or 4 stars which is good! It means that I liked most of the books I’ve read. 3 stars is not a negative review for me. 3 start means I liked and enjoyed it, just enough for me to consider it a very good book or an absolute favorite.
AUTHOR GENDER COUNT

I’ve read more books that are written by Female authors. Unfortunately, I haven’t read any books written by an LGBTQIA author. I am planning on changing that next month.
DIVERSITY OF BOOKS READ

I’ve read 6 books with diverse characters. 4 of which have characters of different ethnicity, 1 has a combination of diverse content, and 1 with an LGBTQIA character.
This will be how you’re going to see my wrap ups moving forward. I hope you like it. Also, if you can recommend me any good books by an author who is part of the LGBTQIA community, please leave some of your recommendations in the comment section. I’d love to read more from them. More Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera is one of my absolute favorites. If you have anything that kinda feels the same, I’d love to hear them.
Link your wraps-ups below so I could visit them too!

We all get into reading slumps at some point I guess. Certainly had my own share of those, but looks like you came out of it in a good way😀 Nine books is awesome! Also love the look of these charts you created! Anyways hope the upcoming month will give you a lot of new and cool books to reda: happy reading!
They’s rough drafts I just created from excel, nothing too fancy lol. And thank you. 😊 hope october is a better reading month!
Congrats on a great reading month! For LGBTQIA+ authors check out Rivers Solomon or Mira Grant/Seanan McGuire. Happy reading!
Never read any of their books! This is awesome. I only know Seanan McGuire because lf her novella series. Thank you. 😊
I love your graphs, they’re so unique! Also it’s great you were able to read more, I love that for you!
Thank you!! Hopefully I can do it this month too. ❤
