I have always been terrible with readathons. I get pretty hyped up whenever a readathon comes that’s really cool and I want to participate in, but for some odd reason, whenever the day finally comes, something tends to happen and I end up just not reading anything even though I had a pretty good TBR set up for the event.
Anyways, I was lounging around and thought about joining one. The quarantine actually gave me unexpected free time so I could catch up on my reading when I’m not working. I asked around the book community on Twitter and they recommended me the Make Your Mythtaker Readathon. The title itself was enough to grab my interest. Mention anything with the word “myth” and I’m in.
WHAT IS THE MAKE YOUR MYTHTAKER READATHON?
I’m terrible at explaining things so I’ll let Ashleigh (the creator and host of the readathon explain things to you.
SANDEE’S ATTEMPT TO TRY TO EXPLAIN THE READATHON
Like I said, I’m bad at explaining things but here you go.
So like the title said, it’s make your own mythtaker. Basically, you will sort of make your own character. You can be a goddess, a monarch, a pirate, an assassin and so others. Each type of character you choose will have specific prompts that you have to follow. So for me, I decided to go the goddess route first and then, if I have time, I want to follow the monarch one. So my character is both a goddess and a monarch. I’m attaching the prompts below for you of my chosen characters. These will all be provided on the announcement link if you guys want to end up joining.
Did my version of things helped a little bit in understanding what this readathon is about? I hope it did because I did try my very best. Haha.

THE GODDESS
NON HUMAN MAIN – Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard

HIGHEST RATED BOOK ON TBR – From Blood and Ash (the second highest)
REREAD A FAVORITE – A Court of Thorns and Roses
THE WRAP UP
So yeah, that’s my TBR. I’m looking forward to finishing them all hopefully in June. I’d be really happy if I’d be able to even just participate in one, but would be really amazing if I’m able to finish the entire thing. I’d love that.
ooh your tbr sounds super exciting! I’m so stoked for this readathon but also lowkey nervous because I’m horrible at sticking to my tbr. I’ve been eyeballing Sisters of Winter Wood and From Blood and Ash so can’t wait to hear what you think! 🙂
It’s the same for me lol. Haha. I am terrible with tbrs too! Haha. I’m looking forwars to those too! Did you post your tbr?
Excuse me but I have to sit and recover my breath. Your blog is beautiful, Sandee. I just read your post three times to fully appreciate the aesthetic (and I’ll probably read it once more).
I’ve just heard of the readathon and I’m considering joining (because the idea sounds like so much fun!!) But I’m also already in for the ReReadathon and would like to read some books for Pride Month and it’s my birth month so I don’t know what books will come my way (if anyone in my family dares to gift me anything else, Imma disown them). Still I’m so self-destructive that I’ll probably join anyway.
I’m eager to read your thoughts on all of these books, mostly Heartless and The Kiss Quotient! I hope you’ll have a wonderful month of June!
You are too nice!! Haha. Thanks though. 😁
It’s my birth month too!! What a coincidence. Haha. I don’t think anyone will gift me books but I did purchae myself some books as a gift for myself haha. Come on! Lets be a little wild on our birthmonth, come and join the readathon. Lol.
This is a great sounding TBR and a great character! I hope you read them and enjoy them all!
