Hi guys!
It’s been a long time since I did a bookish post like this so I’m pretty excited to do one again. WWW Wednesday is hosted by Taking on a World of Words. You can share your post on her weekly thread so that other people can read your posts too.
Anyways, enough of the chit-chattering and let’s get started
I am currently reading The Fifteen Lives of Harry August. I’m not sure this book is for me though. The concept is interesting but I am having a hard time connecting with the narrator. There is more tell that show. I guess it couldn’t be helped because of the nature of the story being told but it is getting kind of boring. It’s a well-loved book – it’s just not for me I guess. I am thinking of DNF-ing it actually.
I finished reading Verity by Colleen Hoover. I liked it, but I found the plot to be a bit far-fetched. I didn’t like the romance either, so that definitely didn’t help much. She did a good job making sure the tension was there though. If the plot wasn’t so outrageous and romance annoying, I would have probably loved this.
I am thinking of reading a couple of books but here are the two on my top list.
The Ten Thousand Doors of January is a recent release that I have read a lot of good buzz about. While The Wicker King is an older one that is also a well-loved book. It has a promise of a good romance and LGBTQ representation, what is there not to like?
I’m going to try and do more of these bookish post in the future. Probably do a Waiting on Wednesday or a Top 5 Wednesday post.
These are all new to me though I’ve heard good things about Hoover’s romances before. I’m sorry this one didn’t work for you. Happy reading and thanks for participating in WWW Wednesday!
